AMAZON LAYED OFF 18,000 EMPLOYEES0

During its first quarter of 2022 at 1.622 million employees Amazon reached the pinnacle of its hiring spree; in the second quarter of 2022, within three months Amazon's workforce dropped to 1.523 employees.

In the third quarter of 2022 the number of employees at Amazon rose to 1.544. Therefore, the current lay-offs is strictly a continuation of Amazon's workforce fluctuation.
It does not indicate the nearing of the end of Amazon as a massive employer, nor should it deter good workers from trying to have stable long term career at large companies such as Amazon.
